A Bit About Me

With over 20 years experience in set and prop making I have also embarked on the Scenography trail.

From wide eyed beginnings with the television show 'Spitting Image' to studying Scenography at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama every step has been a learning experience that has further pushed and honed my abilities.

How did you become interested in design?

I was captivated the first time I saw the AT-ATs on the big screen as a child. I became a collector of the franchise's figures and created landscapes out of cardboard and plaster for them to interact in. In combination with a box full of Lego pieces this nurtured my creativity and love of 'design and making'.

What was your first job?

I was fortunate to land a position with Spitting Image productions working on their titular series along with their other projects (advetising and such).

What else have you done?

I have worked on feature films, adverts, shop displays and west end productions.

Where do you see your work going?

Having been heavily involved in the aspect of making, I started designing with theatre groups whilst I was living in Singapore. I caught the design bug and have recently graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama with a Masters in scenography.

Any particular aspect about the process which you enjoy?

I thoroughly enjoy the collaborative process. I also jump at chances to work with people of different cultures. As well as working on new theatre and experimental productions, I am also keen on designing for opera and ballet.
